Japan developing floating underwater turbine system for ocean energy

Japan’s New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) has chosen their co-researchers in a project to harness the ocean currents for energy. Modernization comes to Proctor hydropower plant in Vermont

Power management company Eaton will be working with Vermont-based energy provider Green Mountain Power to modernize its Proctor, Vermont hydroelectric plant. Eaton will update the plant’s power and control systems which will allow Green Mountain Power to reduce costs, enhance reliability and manage the facility remotely. RusHydro has completed the restoration of the Sayano-Shushenskaya hydropower plant with the commissioning of the tenth new hydropower unit. World Bank aids Laos’ hydropower with $40 million in financing

Aquamarine Power’s Oyster 800 gets an upgrade with recent refit

Wave energy company Aquamarine Power’s Oyster 800 underwent a refit, upgrading the wave machine. The Oyster 800’s cylinder module has been successfully replaced as part of the company’s comprehensive summer refit passes the half-way mark.
