Hydrogenics Corporation, a leading manufacturer of hydrogen generation and fuel cell products, has received contracts to provide two fuel cell power module solutions for renewable energy projects in Greenland and France.

Hydrogenics Corporation has signed an agreement with Nukkissiorfiit, the national energy company in Greenland which is located in the capital of Nuuk. Hydrogenics will provide HyPM Rack stationary systems for the H2KT project that will be used for primary and backup power. The H2KT project will analyze the potential of using hydrogen to store and manage energy better in Greenland so that the country can manage its natural hydrogeneration resources better.

In France, Hydrogenics Corporation will provide the Abalone Group, a human resources consulting firm in the city of Nantes, with HyPM Rack stationary systems to generate energy that will supplement photovoltaic and wind power at Abalone’s new headquarters. The building will be totally independent of the national grid.

Delivery for both renewable energy projects in Greenland and France is expected to begin later this year. Electrolyzers used to store renewable energy in the form of hydrogen at each location are expected to be bid in future phases.

“These are exciting developments that demonstrate the growing importance of hydrogen for energy storage and management. We continue to believe that renewable energy solutions offer a large opportunity for Hydrogenics and are pursuing this market aggressively,” said Daryl Wilson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hydrogenics Corporation.

Hydrogenics Corporation is a leading developer and manufacturer of hydrogen systems and fuel cell products for industrial and commercial customers worldwide. The company’s headquarters is located in Mississauga, Canada.
