Texas residents to be awarded energy credits through Renewable Rewards Buy-Back program

Texas residents will be rewarded with energy credits through a Renewable Rewards Buy-Back program launched last Monday (May 11) by Texas-based clean energy retail provider, Green Mountain Energy Company. Under the program, energy credits will be given to customers for any excess energy sent to the grid by their home-based solar arrays or other renewable generation facilities. The program, according to Green Mountain, is the first of its kind in the state.

Arizona utility APS proposes 1.5-MW interconnected solar plant on 300 rooftops

Up to 300 homes and establishments in the city of Flagstaff, Arizona are set to benefit from a 1.5-megawatt solar pilot project to be launched by the state’s leading producer of electric power, Arizona Public Service (APS). APS announced that it has filed a proposal to the Arizona Corporation Commission last Monday (May 11) for the purchase of solar panels which will be installed by APS-paid local contractors on the city’s houses and businesses, creating an “interconnected renewable power plant.”
