Michigan-based alternative technologies company EarthTronics Inc. has announced that the company’s Honeywell Wind Turbine has a higher performance output and lower installed cost per kilowatt than any other similar unit on the market.

The Honeywell Wind Turbine was designed for home and business use. It allows consumers to leverage wind as an energy source and can reduce the average home energy bill by 18%.

The turbine generates energy from its gearless Blade Tip Power System that eliminates mechanical resistance and drag. The technology allows the turbine to generate power in wind speeds as low as two miles per hour and as high as 45 miles per hour without the typical noise associated with wind turbines.

The Honeywell Wind Turbine will be available in the fall of 2009 through launch partner Ace Hardware and its 4,600 independently-owned and operated stores for a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $4,500.
