B. Veerraju Chaudary, chief technology and operating officer at CNPV, said in a statement that the company was the first in its field to attain the commission’s certification. He said this also represents a tremendous achievement for the company as it begins sale of the new class of module series.

Certification for the 190-watt peak to 200-watt peak photovoltaic module series was awarded by Italy’s Institute of Industrial Certification for Mechanics.

The new 72-cell premium modules are made with large-area, high-efficiency 125 millimeter by 125 millimeter monocrystalline silicon solar cells. The modules feature anti-reflection coated glass and high conductivity interconnected materials.

The larger diameter of the 165-mm compared to standard 150-mm ones, along with a 17.5 percent conversion efficiency, makes for an 8 percent increase in performance above the industry average.

The anti-reflection coated glass also provides an additional boost of 3 percent to performance at field level installations, and ensures 93 percent transmittance at standard test condition level. Minimal resistive power losses are ensured by the use of soft, ductile and high-conductivity interconnected ribbons.

The module series has received I.E.C. 5400Pa certification verifying the ability to withstand high wind pressure and heavy snow load, and is backed by CNPV’s 25-year power output and 10-year product warranty.

CNPV announced the launch of the solar modules at the 24th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition in Hamburg. The company has shipped 8 MW of the modules to date to key customers in Germany, France, Belgium and the Czech Republic.
