Soladigm gets $55 million in financing for energy efficient building glass

California-based Soladigm closed $55 million in equity financing for the commercialization of their energy efficient Dynamic Glass products.

Dynamic Glass is a smart building material that can change its tint from clear to dark on demand to allow occupants to control the amount of light and heat entering the premises.

The series D equity financing was co-led by Reinet Investments and NanoDimension. Soladigm's existing investors: DBL Investors, GE, Khosla Ventures, Navitas Captial, Sigma Partners and the Westly Group also participated in this round.

Concurrent with the financing, Mr. Weston Quasha, director at Reinet and Mr. Aymeric Sallin, founder and chief executive officer at NanoDimension, will join Soladigm's board of directors.

With this latest funding round, Soladigm now has a total of $125 million in equity funding for their commercialization efforts for the Dynamic Glass product and to drive global business growth.

The properties of Dynamic Glass enable better control of heat and glare to reduce heating, ventilation and air-conditioning energy use by around 25 percent. Windows using Dynamic Glass also allow for better use of natural light and still allow unobstructed views for the occupants. – EcoSeed Staff
